How we can help.

REMEMBER: VIOLENCE IS NEVER YOUR FAULT.

We are thrilled to welcome two new domestic violence advocates: Maria and Sarah. Each brings a unique set of skills and are welcome, upbeat additions to the agency.

Domestic Violence can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Often people feel guilty and think they could have prevented the violence. Sometimes people think that no one else is experiencing violence in the home.

HOW WE CAN HELP

We offer Emergency Shelter, Advocacy, and Support Groups.

SHELTER

Fleeing domestic violence is difficult. Having a safe place to go and begin to sort things out can be helpful. We understand. Our shelter is available to those leaving a situation of intimate partner domestic violence or sexual assault. The shelter is an emergency program, and provides a temporary safe place for you — with or without children — to rest while you decide your next steps. While you are there, an advocate can assist you in safety planning, help you look at your legal options, locate independent housing, and work through other goals important to you. We understand that some people are may decide to leave their situation permanently, and others are looking for a break from the situation and may return home.

While in shelter, we try to meet your basic needs. Household items are available; the shelter is furnished with everything you should need. We have a clothing closet, personal items, food, and laundry facilities. The shelter program is meant to meet emergency needs, and if you are seeking a permanent housing solution, our advocates can also work with you to locate safe and affordable housing. For more information, contact us 24 hours a day on our Crisis Line: (360) 374-2273.

ADVOCACY

Our advocates believe you can make the best decisions for yourself. We have information to share with you, and will work with you to locate the resources you need. Advocates are here to empower and support you. Click here for more information on different types of Advocacy.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Support Groups occur weekly, this is a place to come and share your thoughts with others. Getting and giving support can be an opportunity for growth and comfort. Click here for more information and to see the schedule of Support Groups.
